Magneti Marelli, always mindful of biodiversity and environmental sustainability, is working with the Politecnico of Turin and with La Mandria Regional Park of Venaria Reale so that an important ecosystem can be maintained over time. The project entails protecting the Osmoderma Eremita, an extremely rare beetle whose protection requires the conservation of a habitat that is also home to many other plant and animal species. Magneti Marelli, with two plants in the area, supports the initiative financially, technologically and scientifically in order to protect this key habitat and contribute to keeping the ecosystem intact. The company’s involvement in the initiative, in collaboration with the Politecnico and La Mandria, was a natural development of a study carried out last year by Fiat to define the “Biodiversity Value Index”. Through the analysis and evaluation of biological and anthropic indicators present in the territory, this index allows for the evaluation of existing biodiversity conditions as well as the impact and influences deriving from external factors.
