This year once again Magneti Marelli celebrated World Environment Day with several initiatives. An “eco quiz” with prizes was held for all employees of the Italian plants that participated in the initiative. The quiz consisted of filling in sheets with closed questions of an environmental nature divided into five topics: water, energy, waste recycling, logos and climate changes. The answers were provided in video bites featuring Magneti Marelli employees, on air during the previous weeks on MMTV, Magneti Marelli’s in-house television channel. Three winners per plant will be drawn from all the “eco quizes” with the correct answers and will receive the following eco prizes: a basket filled with biologic food products, a backpack made from recycled seatbelts and a photovoltaic recharging unit for cell phones.
The environment also played the starring role at the Magneti Marelli plant in Guangzhou, China, where a discussion was held on environmental and sustainability topics during the Family Day held on June 3rd. Specifically, more than 120 children of plant employees were shown how to save water and differentiate waste through games and quizes. Lastly, costumes and masks were made or the little ones from recycling materials.
In the United States, employees of the Sanford-based Powertrain plant actively contributed to the environmental cause by planting trees.
The Brazilian plant will also celebrate the event using the “eco quiz” format with a questionnaire on the environmental campaign launched last year.
