For the third year in a row, the Company is taking part in the Ecopatente (Eco driver’s license) project, sponsored by Legambiente in cooperation with Confarca (Confederazione Autoscuole Riunite e Consulenti Automobilistici – Confederation of Driving Schools and Automotive Consultants) and Unasca (Unione Nazionale Autoscuole Studi Consulenza Automobilistica – National Union of Driving Schools Automotive Consultants), with the Italian Ministry for Youth and the Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection’s patronage. The aim of the initiative, which involves 5900 driving schools throughout Italy, is to increase awareness in young people about the environment and sustainable mobility, as well as to spread information regarding the proper use of cars and devices that contribute to reducing fuel consumption and emissions. These include many systems developed by Magneti Marelli, such as the AMT Freechoice automated transmission, Xenon gas headlamps, exhaust systems, built-in navigation and info-mobility solutions that allow communication between vehicles, infrastructures and service providers for the intelligent monitoring of vehicle and driving style. Twenty-five thousand Ecopatente certificates have already been given out in the past two years.
