The historic collaboration between Magneti Marelli and CESVI – a secular and independent non-governmental organization for international solidarity – will continue throughout 2015 to support educational initiatives and the social and economic development of local communities in the nations where the company operates, a pillar of the company’s Sustainability Programme.
Since 2013, the partnership with CESVI has increased its focus on the integrated support of the Houses of Smiles in India, which work to support the children and young people that live in the region of Tamil Nadu, offering them a safe and secure environment through education, nutrition and family support.
The social solidarity projects are managed by local associations, which have been actively working in the area for decades.
Over the course of 2014, thanks to Magneti Marelli’s contribution, the Houses of Smiles were able to continue their mission, offering protection, care and companionship to hundreds of children who live or participate in the many educational, training and recreational activities.
The success of the project developed together with CESVI meets Magneti Marelli’s guidelines for investments in social causes. On the one hand, it is carried out in a country where the company has been rooted for years and, on the other, is dedicated to young people, considered as very important stakeholders by the company.
