Each year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization celebrates World No Tobacco Day, highlighting the health risks associated with smoking and supporting effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption.
The objective of World No Tobacco Day is to encourage people to quit for at least 24 hours - inviting them to stop smoking permanently - and to help raise awareness for the protection of the environment.
As well as being a “non-smoking company”, Magneti Marelli is committed to awareness campaigns on these themes, which gave rise to a pilot project in the Hortolândia plant (Brazil). The goal of the activities has been to assist employees who have voluntarily decided to take the path towards quitting smoking through meetings held with qualified professionals.
Magneti Marelli joins in the World No Tobacco Day activities with an internal communication campaign on the company intranet, message boards and internal corporate TV, narrating the activities in Brazil directly through the voice of the project leaders.
