On October 16 FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, celebrates World Food Day.
This edition, which also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the FAO, will be celebrated at Expo Milano 2015 in the presence of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the Director-General of FAO, the President of the Italian Republic and the Italian Ministers of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs.
This year's theme is that of “Social protection and agriculture: breaking the cycle of rural poverty”, deeply connected to the UN theme for Expo 2015, the “Zero Hunger Challenge • United for a sustainable world”: an opportunity to send a strong message to the Zero Hunger Generation and to make it the protagonist in the challenge to eliminate hunger and poverty.
Magneti Marelli is also joining in the celebration of World Food Day, disseminating the message of the day through internal communication activities including posters displayed across all corporate locations, news posted on the company intranet and a celebratory video broadcast on the internal corporate TV channel.
