Energy Savings Day, part of the campaign “M’illumino di Meno” (editor’s note: I light up less) that has reached its tenth edition, also features the participation of Magneti Marelli.
The initiative, launched by Caterpillar - Rai Radio2 and scheduled for 14th February 2014, invites everyone, from institutions to private citizens, from schools to shops, from companies to cultural associations, to join a moment of symbolic “energy silence” and manifest their attention to the topic of sustainability, while the programme is being broadcast.
14th February 2014 was chosen as a symbolic date for showing one’s concern for the Planet Earth and for emphasizing the importance of environmental sustainability, crucial to contributing to changing people’s lifestyles and to find new economic resources through energy savings.
Magneti Marelli takes part in the initiative with personnel awareness actions and by providing a few simple tips for saving energy in the workplace on the Intranet portal, on the bulletin boards located in communal areas and on the corporate TV. This event also represents a chance to strengthen the importance of the practices adopted through the World Class Manufacturing programme, practices that allow the company to improve its environmental performances day after day.
This year, the radio awareness campaign has obtained once again the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic as well as the Patronage of the European Parliament.
