During 2011, Magneti Marelli’s Corbetta plant has been the focus of a pilot project dedicated to increasing employee awareness of environmental topics. The project, which aims to get employees involved by making “eco-friendly” suggestions, was organized in multiple phases: online courses, selflearning tests and distribution of eco-gadgets during World Environment Day to award the best “green” suggestions. And it was precisely from the pool of ideas submitted by the employees that a suggestion was drawn each month: in addition to being awarded, the suggestion is actually implemented and its results monitored. In October, for example, mini-training sessions were held on the proper use of printers, with the default setting of front/rear printing in order to consume less paper. Again in October, the first results on paper and energy savings were published; the figures are updated on the 15th of each month based on the KPIs achieved at plant level, in each individual area. The slogan of the project is “Help us to improve”, and many employees have already contributed their valuable ideas.
