The International Day of Charity, established by the UN General Assembly in December 2012, is celebrated on 5th September 2014.
This date commemorates the anniversary of the death in 1997 of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress.
Magneti Marelli recognises the importance of charity and supports the values of dialogue, solidarity and the actions of humanitarian organisations and voluntary associations that seek to improve the human condition. Several projects of solidarity and social sustainability are, in fact, supported by Magneti Marelli in the countries it operates in, from India to Brazil, including Italy and the United States.
Magneti Marelli joins in the celebrations of the International Day of Charity publicising, with an internal communication campaign on the intranet portal, on the bulletin boards and on corporate TV, the social sustainability and support activities benefiting non-profit organisations worldwide.
