During the course of 2012, the Automotive Lighting plant in Brotterode kicked off an environmental project called “OkoMotiv”. Supported by the European Union, by the European Social Fund and by the Italian government, the project aims at boosting environmental awareness in all employees. During the initial phase, an anonymous questionnaire on environmental issues was distributed, whose results were then processed by IWT (Thuringia Institute of Economics). A team was also set up to support the Environment Pillar. Afterwards, a sustainability agreement was defined for the entire Thuringia region (central area of Germany) to which the Magneti Marelli plant also adhered thanks to its ISO 4001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001 certifications.
