Leading automotive supplier MARELLI is delighted to announce that Beda Bolzenius, President and CEO of the company, has been named an “Automotive News All-Stars” for 2019 in the “CEO, Global Supplier” category.
The annual “Automotive News All-Stars” award is determined by the editorial staff of the international auto industry publication, to honor top executives who have made a difference in the automotive field over the previous 12 months. Mr. Bolzenius will be recognized for his contribution at an awards ceremony to be held on December 2, 2019.
Judges chose to recognize Beda for “weaving a single global organization called MARELLI out of multiple business lines in 170 locations with 62,000 employees, blending a culture that’s half Japanese, half Italian and led by a German with a North American background. His task is to leverage the technologies of both companies — from lighting to exhaust-emission controls — to move forward in the coming decade of electrification.”
Over the last year, Mr. Bolzenius has led the integration of Magneti Marelli and Calsonic Kansei, two successful global automotive suppliers with world-leading reputations for innovation and manufacturing excellence. In May 2019, the two companies united to create one of the world’s largest independent automotive suppliers, under one worldwide brand, MARELLI.
With post-integration net sales of around €14.6 billion (approximately ¥1825 billion*¹), MARELLI operates out of 170 facilities and R&D centers across Europe, North America, South America and Asia Pacific, and is positioned to compete even more effectively on a global scale. As reflected by the concept of the company’s new brand, “Powering Progress Together,” MARELLI focuses on helping customers confidently navigate and succeed in an unprecedentedly changing industry.
Dr. Bolzenius joined Calsonic Kansei Corporation as President and CEO on April 1, 2018, and was appointed President and CEO of MARELLI in May 2019. He has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry after a distinguished career at global auto parts maker Johnson Controls, where he was Vice Chairman of the company's Asia Pacific operations, in addition to holding the role of President of Automotive Experience. He additionally held various senior roles in the company's automotive division in global markets such as China, Germany and the United States. Prior to his more than ten years at Johnson Controls, Mr. Bolzenius spent nearly two decades at Robert Bosch, rising to the position of Division President of the company's Body Electronics unit in Germany.
