Starting from the winner, the Volkswagen Passat, the Magneti Marelli technologies are on board five of the seven finalists of the prestigious “Car of the Year 2015” award. The Magneti Marelli solutions adopted on these cars cover in particular the lighting, Powertrain and electronic systems areas.
The Volkswagen Passat, the winner, adopts LED rear lights for the lighting systems and motorised throttle for the 1.4 FSI engine in powertrain area, both developed by Magneti Marelli.
The Citroën C4 Cactus adopts a Magneti Marelli multimedia infotainment system called “Touch pad”, equipped with 7'' high-resolution colour display. The Citroën C4 Cactus also adopts an electronic control unit and a hydraulic kit for the AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) in addition to the Powertrain components such as the throttle bodies and the pumps for the GDI fuel system.
There is Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting on the Mercedes-Benz C Class, with latest-generation headlights, available in the halogen, LED and LED adaptive versions, and the Ford Mondeo that adopts LED rear lamps.
The BMW Series 2 Active Tourer has an infotainmment system that was developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli and is based on an “open source” technology concept. The system offers a sophisticated set of features, including navigation, brilliant graphics, Internet access and even wireless connectivity. On the BMW Series 2 Active Tourer there are also halogen and Bi-Xenon headlamps and LED rear lights.
The final classification of the event: Volkswagen Passat, Citroën C4 Cactus, Mercedes-Benz Class C, Ford Mondeo, Nissan Qashqai, BMW Series 2 Active Tourer; Renault Twingo.
