Motor show premiere for Porsche Taycan 4S, Macan Turbo and 99X Electric in California
The Porsche Taycan is celebrating its US premiere at the LA Auto Show.
Following the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, the Taycan 4S is the new starting point of the electric line-up. A single-deck Performance Battery with a gross capacity of 79.2 kWh is fitted as standard, while the two-deck Performance Battery Plus (gross capacity 93.4 kWh), familiar from the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, is available as an option. Power output and range therefore vary correspondingly. With Performance Battery, the Taycan 4S generates up to 530 PS overboost power; equipped with Performance Battery Plus, it delivers up to 571 PS.
Both variants of the Taycan 4S accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Top speed is also 250 km/h in both cases and range is up to 407 kilometres with Performance Battery and up to 463 kilometres with Performance Battery Plus. Maximum charging power (peak) is 225 kW (Performance Battery) and 270 kW (Performance Battery Plus).
«A year ago we introduced the new generation of the 911 in Los Angeles. Now we follow up with the Taycan – the first all electric sports car from Porsche. California has been like a second home for Porsche for many decades. It’s where the world’s biggest 911 fan base is. With the Taycan we connect our past to the future and we will continue the Porsche success story» says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche.
In addition to the Taycan, Porsche has also chosen the LA Auto Show as the location for the US premiere of the new Macan Turbo. With 440 PS, it assumes flagship status among Porsche compact SUV sports cars.
The new Macan Turbo now leads the way in the Porsche compact SUV model range. The new 2.9-litre, six-cylinder biturbo engine in this extensively revamped flagship model offers 440 PS, ten per cent more power than its predecessor from 20 per cent less displacement. With the optional Sport Chrono package, the car sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds – three-tenths faster than before. The car’s top speed is 270 km/h.
In parallel with Porsche’s debut in Formula E on 22 and 23 November 2019, the Porsche 99X Electric, the brands first all electric racing car will also be on display at the LA Auto Show. The Porsche 99X Electric will also serve as a development platform for future all-electric production road cars.
