VW launches new Tiguan production at Russian plant in Kaluga
Volkswagen officially started production of the new Tiguan series at its Russian plant in Kaluga.
This is the first crossover made by the carmaker developed on the MQB modular platform of the Wolfsburg Group.
Volkswagen has improved the factory facilities (inaugurated also a body shop) to adapt it to the debut of the new Tiguan, whose first deliveries in Russia will start by the first quarter of next year.
The investments being made at the plant confirm the will of Volkswagen to consolidate activities in the Russian market, despite the current difficulties.
