Volvo to produce also the XC90 at its US plant
Volvo announces a further 1.1 billion dollars investment at its first American plant that will be built in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Swedish carmaker has officially announced that from 2021 the factory will host the assembly of the next generation of the XC90, which will thus be complemented by the already anticipated S60 that will be produced at the site's assembly shifts by the fall of 2018.
Creating a second line will also bring the overall workforce at the plant to nearly 4,000 employees.
The total production capacity of the factory will therefore increase to approximately 150,000 units per year.
