Toyota returns to export its Hilux made in Thailand to Japan
Toyota is ready to restart after 13 years the export to Japan of its Hilux pick-up assembled in Thailand.
The milestone was celebrated with a special event at Banpo's (Thailand) Toyota plant, also organized to celebrate the export of the 3 millionth vehicle in the Innovation Multi-Purpose Vehicle project, which also belongs to Hilux.
Thailand is the production site of about 60% of Toyota pick-up total output with the assembly of 450,000 units a year divided into two factories. That Japanese is the main carmaker in the Southeast Asia market.
