Toyota raises the challenge to VW: over 10 million units sold in 2016
The Toyota Group will not easily give up, and in this last month of the year expects to recover the few sales volumes that currently separate Toyota from the Volkswagen Group for the global leadership.
It will be a head to head challenge (with the General Motors Group firmly in third position, but spaced from rivals) until the last unit, but in any case the Nagoya Group is certain to overcome even in 2016 (and it would be the fourth consecutive time ) the threshold of 10 million units sold, which also include the subsidiaries Daihatsu and Hino.
Indeed, in Nagoya they predict that 2016 deliveries will exceed the 10.11 million vehicles sold last year, but not the 10,230,000 units with which the Japanese company has set the record in 2014.
Of course, the Volkswagen Group expects to pass the milestone of 10 million units, and we will see who will come up.
The battle between the two giants will continue in 2017 when the Toyota Group expects to break the 2014 record and the Volkswagen Group will benefit from the fundamental push of the new Golf with the restyling of the seventh generation.
