Suzuki at the production milestone of 20 million units in India
Suzuki announces that it has reached the prestigious production milestone of 20 million units assembled n India, which thus becomes the second country in the world to have achieved this result after Japan.
The threshold was exceeded 34 years after the start of the activities of the Japanese carmaker in India, in a joint venture with Maruti, of which today holds a 56.21% stake.
Currently, Suzuki assembles in India through the joint venture facilities and more recently through the new factory in the Gujarat region, managed independently.
The largest contribution to the 20 million vehicles produced come from Alto with 3.17 million units.
The previous milestones of 10 million and 15 million assembled units were reached, respectively, in March 2011 and May 2015.
