SsangYong: in 2019 three new models in Europe and Australia
SsangYong aims to launch three new models in Australia and Europe, within the next year: the successor of the Korando, a petrol variant of the C300 and a Rexton Sports pickup with a longer body.
"We will enter overseas markets, Australia and Europe, with three new models launched next year. In a difficult situation, we have invested 400 billion won (357 million dollars) a year in the development of new vehicles and structures, "said SsangYong Motor CEO Choi Jong-sik, at the end of a press conference held to announce the conclusion of almost decade-long affair that had become a political and social issue.
Started in 2009 with the withdrawal of the then largest Chinese shareholder, the state-owned car company SAIC Motor and the dismissal of about 2,600 employees, which were followed by protests, strikes and unrest, including social and trade union.
