Saic to launch ride-hailing services in China
The state-owned Chinese automaker Saic Motor has announced it is ready to launch ride-hailing services in China.
The company will provide a complete package to drivers who will collaborate with the Xiangdao Chuxing network, which includes vehicle, maintenance, car financing and insurance services.
Saic manufactures and markets passenger vehicles in China under the Roewe and MG brands (whose ranges also include plug-in hybrid models) and light commercial vehicles under the Maxus brand.
In the first ten months of the year combined sales of Roewe and MG increased by 37% to around 570,000 units. Saic is also engaged in the production of vehicles in joint ventures with General Motors and the Volkswagen Group.
