Porsche 911 GT3 improves its record on the Ring lap
The renewed Porsche 911 GT3 reduced by 12.3 seconds the new lap record at the Nürburgring circuit set by the previous 991 series.
The supercar has stopped the chronometers to 7-minute, 12-second, and 7-tenth using a boosted engine power of 15 hp (made by the 4-liter boxer engine) and various chassis, trim and aerodynamic changes.
The model that reached the record used a PDK transmission and Michelin Sport Cup2 tires and it was driven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern.
The Porsche 911 GT3 reaches a maximum speed of 317 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.2 seconds.
