Nissan opens new research & development office in Russia
Nissan has announced the opening of a new Russian office of its Research and Development Technical Center Europe.
Located in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg near the Nissan plant, the new headquarters of 4,170 square meters stands in a modern two-story structure that has laboratories equipped with special equipment to perform a wide range of validation and research works.
The workforce consists of 120 highly qualified employees who will be gradually increased to include more than 200 units.
In addition to studying the preferences of Russian customers and developing the brand's local model line-up, the office will also focus on locating components and materials, increasing local suppliers' capabilities, providing engineering support for the Nissan production plant and monitor the performance of vehicles already in production.
