New Volkswagen Passat to be produced also in India
Volkswagen announced the launch of the next generation Passat also in India. The car is assembled at Aurangabad plant, Maharashtra region, and it will be officially on sale in the country by the end of the year.
The ceremony was attended by the German carmaker's director of the local division, Steffen Knapp, according to which Passat will further consolidate Volkswagen volumes in the premium Indian segment.
It will be initially available in India with the 177 HP 2.0 TDI engine mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
