New Ford centre to challenge all kinds of weather
It's called "Weather Factory" and it is a new environmental simulation center built by Ford at its European headquarter in Cologne.
The structure will be able to recreate any climatic conditions, from arctic cold to desert heat, passing through the humidity of the equatorial forests, with the aim to test the effects on vehicles under development.
For example, within the German centre in Cologne it will be possible to reproduce the atmosphere of Mount Blanc, the highest peak in Europe.
The "Weather Factory" will be fully operational at the end of the next year and it will allow to simulate weather conditions such as heavy snow, glaring sun, torrential rains, wind gusts up to 250 km/h and humidity up to 95%.
