Mitsubishi produced 5 million vehicles in Thailand
It is a Shogun Sport the 5 millionth unit produced by Mitsubishi in the Thai plant of Laem Chabang.
The Japanese carmaker's CEO, Osamu Masuko, also attended the ceremony for the prestigious production milestone.
The Thai factory is the largest for Mitsubishi outside the Rising Sun country, has a capacity of 424 thousand vehicles a year and exports involve over 120 international markets (recently the threshold of 3 million units exported has been exceeded).
Mitsubishi started its operations in Thailand in 1961 and the previous production targets were reached in 2003 with 1 million cars, in 2010 with 2 million, in 2013 with 3 million and in 2015 with 4 million.
