Mazda: a “good” 2% for profitability in North America
Masahiro Moro, head of the North American Division since January 2016, has the recipe ready to allow Mazda to consolidate profitability in the region and make the local sales network profitable.
The Japanese carmaker has currently a 2% market share in the continent, but according to Moro, the ideal would be holding a "good" 2%, so with a range closer to the 2.5% rather than just under 2%.
Mazda sales in North America benefit most from the success of the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9 crossovers, which last year accounted for almost half of the total.
At a global level, Mazda's crossover market share is just below 40% and the goal is to increase it to 45% in the current fiscal year to reach 50% in the next year.
