Hyundai produced 5 million units for the Indian market
Hyundai Motor India celebrates the milestone of 5 million units produced and destined for the emerging Asian market.
The milestone model is a new Verna assembled at the Chennai plant. The Korean carmaker has started its manufacturing activities in India in 1998 and in 2007 has passed the first important threshold of 1 million vehicles.
Hyundai's Indian success is due in particular to the Santro, Eon, Verna, Creta, Grand i10, Elite i20 and i20 Active models.
Taking into account also the vehicles assembled for export, Hyundai Motor India produced the 7 millionth unit in 2016.
