Honda CR-V for the first time in Europe with an hybrid version
In addition to the pre-announced Urban EV Concept, Honda will unveil another prototype at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It's the CR-V Hybrid Concept that brings the hybrid power debut on the SUV in Europe.
The car is equipped with the i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) system, which features a 4-cylinder 2.0 i-Vtec petrol engine and two electric powertrains, one of which is used as a generator.
The scheme excludes the traditional transmission known as a single-drive transmission and the driver will be asked to choose between EV, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive driving modes.
Once on the market, the new CR-V will be available in Europe with this hybrid power supply alongside the VTEC Turbo 1.5-liter with manual or CVT automatic transmission, while (and it is a major news item) no diesel versions.
