Future Datsun models in India will also be electric
The Nissan Group is studying an electric future for its Datsun low-cost brand in India.
The operation will begin to materialize from next year when the current second generation of the Leaf will be making its debut in the Asian country that will serve as the basis for the development of Datsun's zero emission versions.
The electrified Datsun models will be ptoduced at the Chennai plant, managed in joint venture between the Allies Nissan and Renault.
The future launch of the brand's electric vehicles will allow the Japanese group to support the battery-powered offensive strongly supported by the New Delhi authorities.
