Ford begins Ranger Raptor production in Thailand
Ford has recently started production of its Ranger Raptor in the Thai plant in Rayong, managed by the subsidiary Ford Thailand Manufacturing.
The commercialization of the pick-up in the emerging South-East Asian market will start in August with a 2-liter twin-turbo diesel engine and bodywork that is partly based on that of the F-150 pick-up, a leader in American sales for decades.
By the end of the year, Ranger Raptor (unveiled locally last February) will also be exported with a focus on Australia and Middle East countries.
According to a spokesman for Ford's Asean division, the pick-up will have great success in Thailand considering the initial boom orders.
