E.ON supports switch to electromobility in Europe's metropolises
As part of the EU's Meister funding project from the Horizon 2020 program, E.ON participates as a partner in pilot projects for the transition to electric mobility.
In three European metropolises (Berlin, Gothenburg and Malaga) E.ON is gathering insights into the technical challenges and business models that promise success for electric mobility providers in cities.
E.ON is also testing concepts for e-car sharing, the expansion of charging infrastructure in large residential areas, and the operation and conversion of municipal bus fleets from diesel to electric.
The Berlin consortium has now started the state-owned residential construction project “Waterkant Berlin”. The pilot project will consist of around 2,500 apartments constructed by 2024.
Tenants are provided with innovative mobility offers such as e-car sharing with the easiest possible access to charging stations.
