Electrify America to install the first EV charging stations in Ohio
Electrify America in agreement with the American Infrastructure Commission will install electric vehicle charging stations along the Ohio Turnpike, the important interstate corridor that provides access from the East Coast regions to the Midwest where over 55 million vehicles passed through last year.
The charging stations will be located at selected sites where the demand for electric vehicles is expected to be more significant in the short term. Each Electrify America station will be equipped with four charging stations offering 150 kW to 350 kW of power.
The latter, in particular, have the first refrigerated cable system certified in the United States, which allows energy to be supplied to the vehicle for an autonomy of more than 30 km per minute of recharge; seven times faster than the more commonly used 50kW fast chargers.
